According to coroner's officials, a northbound pick-up truck was trying to pass another vehicle. However, the truck struck Danley's Cadillac, which was headed southbound. Danley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man who hit Danley, 23-year-old Jacob Kaminski, was arrested for driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. After hitting Danley's car, he also hit a Toyota Camry carrying three people.
