Gary, Ind. crash leaves 3 dead after train hits car

Three people were killed in a crash after a freight train hit a vehicle in Gary, Indiana Tuesday morning. Gary police said the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. at Miller Avenue and Howard Street. Police said three people inside of the vehicle were killed.

A witness who was waiting at the crossing said when the gates started coming down, one car went over the tracks, and made it through the crossing before the train. That’s when she saw the silver Chevy pull around her car and attempt the same move.
