One person injured and Blake Parker, 30, killed when hit by car following collision on Indiana Toll Road in Hammond, Indiana

(STMW) — A southwest suburban man was killed when he was struck by a car early Saturday on the Indiana Toll Road in Hammond. The driver of the Charger was taken to Saint Margaret Franciscan Health in Hammond with non-life-threatening injuries, state police said. He had been driving a maroon 2010 Nissan Maxima eastbound when his vehicle hit the back of a semi at 3:33 a.m., according to Indiana State Police. No citations had been issued in relation to the crash as of Saturday morning, according to state police. Blake Parker, 30, suffered blunt force injuries in a crash on eastbound I-90 at the 0.9 mile marker in Hammond, according to a statement from the Lake County coroner’s office.
