Indiana trooper seriously injured in crash on I-80/94

An Indiana trooper was transported by helicopter after a crash involving his SUV on the Borman Expressway (I-80/94) at Ripley in Lake Station. Trooper Jacob Raupp, 26, was seriously injured when "he failed to slow for another vehicle in the center lane," according to an Indiana State Police news release. Raupp was driving westbound on I-80 near the 15.7 mile marker when his police SUV struck the rear of a semi that was pulling an empty flatbed trailer. The crash happened in the center lane, police said.
