The 30-year-old man who was driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police and the Lake County coroner’s office. He had suffered blunt-force trauma in the crash. His name was not released Wednesday night.

A 36-year-old woman in Tuggle's car had life-threatening injuries. She was extricated and flown by helicopter to a hospital, police said.
