Skyler Bruner was riding on a moped with Darrell Bruner, who is his father, on U.S. 31 near Shady Lane when a southbound Jeep Cherokee’s driver said he hit the moped. The Jeep’s driver said he was unable see the moped, and a witness indicated that the moped had a dimly-lit rear light. The accident occurred at approx. 7:43 p.m. Darrell Bruner was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital with a head injury, and Skyler was airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health, where he died at 11:45 p.m.
