An Iowa State Patrol trooper suffered what appear to be minor injuries when his squad car was struck while he was investigating a crash on Interstate 80 Friday morning.
An Iowa State Patrol trooper suffered what appear to be minor injuries when his squad car was struck while he was investigating a crash on Interstate 80 Friday morning.
Sgt. Sharon Kurt said the trooper, who is not yet being identified, was investigating a crash that had occurred on Interstate 80 near Oxford around 6:40 a.m. The trooper was sitting in his car and set to begin the investigation on the initial crash when his squad car was hit by a pickup that had been hit by a semi-trailer truck.
Kurt said the trooper suffered some back pain and went to a doctor to get checked out. She said his injuries were "not serious at all."
No one else was injured in the crash, Kurt said.
