Louisville police say a 5-year-old girl waiting for her bus has died after being hit by a car.

LMPD public information officer Dwight Mitchell said the driver was heading west on Gaulbert Avenue when Bolds, who was waiting at her bus stop, darted out into the roadway and was hit by the vehicle. "It's a very traffic situation that's happened," Dwight Mitchell, with LMPD said.
A 5-year-old girl was waiting for a bus at around 8:30 a.m. with friends when she darted into the street for an unknown reason. She was struck and pinned beneath a pickup truck. She was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
