The driver, a woman in her mid 50's, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said that the train sounded its horn multiple times as it approached the intersection.
A woman was killed when her SUV was struck by a train in southwest Louisville. An early investigation showed the woman in a Ford Edge, attempted to cross the railroad tracks on Abbots Beach Road when she was struck by a Norfolk Southern Line train at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The woman was the sole occupant in the car at the time of the collision.
