Kristen Cottrell, 18, died in a two-vehicle head-on collision at the intersection of US 31 and Kentucky 1638 in Muldraugh​, Kentucky

A Ford Focus driven by 18 year-old Kristen Cottrell of Guston was traveling south on US 31W, when he ran the red light at the Old Mill Road intersection and struck a Ford Econoline van being operated by Denise Thompson, 52, of Brandenburg, head-on in the northbound turning lane. Cottrell was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade County Coroner.
