5-year-old dies in crash involving Amish buggy

A 5 year-old boy is dead and seven others injured after an Amish buggy and a truck crashed in western Kentucky. The Graves County sheriff's office says 69-year-old Robert Zimmer was driving down KY 58 West, when he collided with the buggy. He told deputies the sun was in his eyes and he couldn't see it coming. A mother and her six children were in the buggy and 5-year-old Moses Yoder died in the wreck. We're told the horse was thrown into the eastbound lane and hit by a truck.

Children injured in Graves Co. buggy crash released from hospital

Four children have been released from the hospital after they were seriously injured when their horse-drawn buggy was hit by a pickup truck on Friday. WLEX-TV, the NBC affiliate in Lexington, reported the Amish buggy was hit just before 5:30 Friday night on Kentucky 58 West in Graves County. Moses Yoder, 5, was killed on impact. The pickup driver told police he didn't see the buggy because the sun was in his eyes. The children's mother who was driving the buggy, Lena Yoder, 28, remains hospitalized in critical condition. Deputies say no charges are expected to be filed.
