Rurid L. James, 56, killed, after his car leaves the eastbound Louisiana 620 roadway near Erwinville, and crashes into a culvert and overturns, ejecting him from the vehicle.

An Erwinville man died early Wednesday after his eastbound 1998 Chevrolet Lumina left La. 620, struck a culvert and overturned, State Police said. Not wearing a seat belt, Rurid L. James, 56, was ejected from his car, suffering fatal injuries, a Trooper First Class said. The accident occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on La. 620, also known as Section Road, east of La. 413 in West Baton Rouge Parish, police said. State police don’t know why James left the road to the right, police said. A toxicology sample was taken from James and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis, Sandifer said.
