Baton Rouge motorcycle officer escorting funeral procession on Highland Road through LSU campus injured in crash

A Baton Rouge Police Department motorcycle officer escorting a funeral procession on Highland Road through the LSU campus was hospitalized with moderate injuries following an accident Wednesday afternoon, a police spokesman said. The two-vehicle accident, which occurred about 2 p.m. near the intersection of Highland and Tower Drive about , remains under investigation, Baton Rouge police spokesman Cpl. Don Coppola said.
