Darrell Magee, 56, from Franklinton, was killed in a crash after he was ejected from his pick-up truck on the Bonnet Carre Spillway Friday night, and was pronounced deceased at the site. Three other people received minor injuries in the two-car collision. Magee was speeding westbound behind the wheel of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado when he came upon a 1989 Honda Accord driven by a 48-year-old Baton Rouge man, as of yet not identified. Magee hit the Accord, and his truck continued onto shoulder of the interstate, hit the guardrail, and then swerved back onto I-10 and hit the Accord a second time. Both cars spun around and came to a stop in the right-hand lane. Magee, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the truck. His passenger, a 53-year-old woman from Hammond, was treated at the site. Medical personnel also treated the driver of the Accord and his 17-year-old passenger. Their condition is not known at the time of this report.
