According to preliminary reports, the accident happened on I-10 near the Esplanade exit about 2 a.m.
Police said the officers were standing outside their cars when a car being driven by Percy Smith, 34, crashed into them, according to a NOPD spokesman.
The three officers - who were all on duty at the time of the accident - were brought to an area hospital where they were treated for minor injuries.
Smith was booked on a slew of charges including driving while intoxicated, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, disregarding the officer's signal and hit and run.
