Two people were injured, one seriously, when their vehicles collided Sunday on Dyers Bay Road, state police reported Monday. Shane Mclean, 48, of Steuben initially was taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth after the crash Sunday but later was transported by helicopter to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. A report on his condition was not immediately available. Mclean was driving a 2000 Chevrolet car north on Dyers Bay Road about 4:47 p.m. when he crossed the centerline into the path of an oncoming 1999 Ford sport utility vehicle being driven by Megan Nolan, 23, also of Steuben, according to state police. Nolan was treated at the scene and then released, said state police. Alcohol was a factor in Mclean’s operation of his vehicle, state police indicated, and speed also was an element in the accident.
