Madawaska Chief Carroll Theriault says the Madawaska home of Robert and Kim Lausier was robbed just hours after Monday's crash.
Four people were killed Monday morning on Route 161 about 15 miles north of Caribou in Aroostook County, according to Maine State Police. The accident occurred when a car and an SUV crashed head-on at about 10:15 a.m. on Route 161 near Rainbow Cove. State Troopers said a southbound SUV attempted to overtake a tractor-trailer on Route 161 when it smashed head-on into a northbound sedan. The sedan driver, Bobbi-Jo Johnston of Fort Fairfield, her mother, Laurie Ann Johnston, 52, and her daughter, Alana Nelson, 2, were all pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver, Kimberly Lausier of Madawaska, was also declared dead at the scene. The passenger in the SUV, Richard Lausier, 53, was brought to to Cary Medical Center in Caribou and later transferred him to EMMC in Bangor with non-life-threatening injuries.
