Lawrence George, 64, dies in head-on crash in Williamstown, Massachusetts

Williamstown police say a Vermont man has died in a head-on crash in front of the local high school. Police say 64-year-old Lawrence George, of Pownal, Vt., was heading south when his Hyundai Elantra was struck by a northbound Ford Explorer that had crossed the center line in front of Mount Greylock Regional High School. George was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford, 34-year-old William Lowe, of Pawtucket, R.I., and a female passenger, were transported to Berkshire Medical Center for injuries not considered life-threatening. Both vehicles were totaled. The investigation is ongoing and there was no word on charges.
