Health related accidents are unpredictable. Driving drunk or texting while driving is a crime, but to have a heart attack, stroke, or some other major medical problem while driving is an accident. It is unfortunate that a life was lost, and two people went to the hospital. I'm sure that the man's family, the injured parties and their families, are all having a hard time dealing with this fatal accident.

Anyone who knew Mr. Dill would agree that he should not be driving. His mobility and reflexes would make any rational person question whether he should be driving. Ignorant is what you are "Truth be told". The family members should be ashamed of themselves. Argue away but truth be told is you are truly ignorant. The accident was his fault. 96 years old and not qualified physically to be driving. A mother and daughter have been seriously hurt because of HIS selfishness. Did he intend to do it? Probably not but it was clearly reckless and selfish.

Anyone who knew Mr Dill knew he always drove slowly. If he had any past issues the RMV or the police would have taken his license away. Everyone who knew him was aware that he never drank alcohol, he never texted while driving and he was not the type of person to drive irresponsibly. Anyone at any age can have a medical condition that could result in an accident. So do we take the right to drive away from anyone who might have a higher risk? Is there an age in the state of massachusettes where you are no longer allowed to drive? I wonder who causes more accidents the elderly, the drunk or the new drivers texting/talking on the phone/ or speeding deliberately ? Face it every time you get in your car it's Russian roulette. Have you never talked on your phone? Texted? Speeded? Drove after a drink? I guess 90 % of all drivers have been negligent at sometime. Sadly Mr Dill died in a very tragic way. Sadly people where injured. Sadly ignorant people make cruel statements that cause loved ones more pain. Time to heal not throw stones.

Accident yes...negligence yes...no more meaningful issues than the irresponsible behavior of thinking it is alright for a 96 year old to be driving our streets. Poor Mr Dill? How about the poor folks who were injured because of one man's selfishness?

People are living longer today with advanced medical equipment, technology, training, etc. Former President George Bush jumped out of an airplane at age 85 as he enjoys parachuting. Actress Shirley Jones just turned 80 years of age and wants to try parachuting. People have the right to make choices. If they want to parachute in their eighties, let them. Are they taking a risk or just having fun? How can you put an age restriction on someone to stop them from doing something they do very well, because you feel they are too old? Your as young as you feel! I have never heard of someone being restricted to term limits due to age. Sounds like age discrimination to me. If you pass the test or legal requirements to operate a train, plane, auto, bus, boat, etc., how on God's earth can you stop someone because you feel they are too old? Who are you to Judge someone? We have laws for a reason. If you break the law, you face consequences. I didn't read anything to suggest that Mr. Dill committed any crime. It's not a crime to drive a car over a certain age. The article I read never mentioned he was speeding. There was no mention that he was drunk. There was no mention that he was texting while driving. There was no mention that he was smoking pot behind the wheel of the car. The article did say he was 96 years old. It appears it was an unfortunate accident where God took him to soon. Let Mr. Dill rest in peace. Focus your energy and bitterness towards more meaningful issues. Age Discrimination is illegal. Laws have been enacted to protect us from age discrimination.

Accidents can happen at any age. You can be an inexperienced young driver, a middle age driver who mistakenly hits the gas instead of the brake, you may be experiencing a medical problem while driving, or maybe there is a defect with the vehicle. Maybe the car accelerated on it's own. A few years ago, my dad who was driving in his late eighties, with a valid drivers license, he struck three vehicles at different times of the day, as he was experiencing mini strokes. Lucky for my dad one of the vehicles that he struck had a doctor in the car. The doctor realized my dad needed medical attention. My dad did not drink, did not smoke, and never used drugs. My dad didn't have any prior medical problems. My dad was fortunate to survive from his accidents. My dad did not intentionally hit these vehicles, and he and his family were devastated at the time of the accident. We were thankful that there were only non-life threatening injuries. Thank God that the other victims realized that my dad had no control of his motor skills. Cars can be replaced. Wounds can heal. Be thankful they were only non-life threatening injuries. I'm sure the family of the man driving the car are devastated that they they lost a loved one, who won't be coming home tonight. I'm sure they are devastated that their loved one was involved in an accident and injured someone. It sounds like it was an unfortunate accident and not a deliberate act to intentionally ram cars to hurt someone.

Why on earth does this 96 year old man have a license...he almost killed our beautiful 17 year old granddaughter last night! His speed was estimated to be 70 mph and it was a 35 mph zone. What's wrong with the picture...how often are people tested for road skills at 96 and he had a brand new 2014 Lincoln car that he planned on driving. Shameful!

My prayers go out to the family of thoes who were involed with
