Investigators reportedly found that the vehicle was traveling east on Silver Street when “the glare from the sun and the failure to properly clear the vehicles windshield from frost temporarily interfered with the operators ability to see out the windshield.”

A 14-year-old boy was riding his bike to school at around 7:30 a.m. when he was struck by a car driven by 23-year-old Julia Shaw. He was taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center by ambulance. Police say his injuries appear to be minor, and that glare from the sun on Shaw's frosty windshield led to the crash.
