Two city men are reportedly dead following a head-on crash that shut down a section of Route 5 Thursday night.

The fatal collision happened near 671 Northampton St. just before 9:30 p.m. One of the men died in the collision, and a second victim, initially trapped inside one of the vehicles with serious injuries, has also died. The victims are identified as 50-year-old George Rios and 71-year-old Jimmy Wright, both of Holyoke.
