Lapeer County sheriff in serious condition after fatal head-on collision
Police say a preliminary investigation has revealed 27-year-old Allen Babcock, of Lapeer, was headed east around 9:15 a.m. Dec. 8 on Davison Road near Oak Road in a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country minivan when the vehicle crossed over the center line and struck the sheriff's cruiser head-on.
