Woman pedestrian struck and killed by hit and run driver near an intersection in Grand Rapids.

One person was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Grand Rapids Monday morning. Around 7 a.m. Monday, Grand Rapids Police were called to a scene near the intersection of Michigan Street and Bel Air Drive NE. Police say a pedestrian was killed in the accident. The driver that hit the victim fled the scene. A passerby found the victim, a woman, in the road. Police think the victim was walking to work. Police say there were no witnesses to the accident. They believe it is a hit and run accident because some debris was found in the road. Police believe the suspected vehicle is a Ford vehicle with a possible tan trim. They continue to investigate the accident.
