One person died in a crash involving a semi-truck in Coldwater Township Saturday. The crash happened near US-12 and Nash Road around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The victim, 75-year-old Bobby King of Coldwater, was heading westbound on US-12 when he attempted to make a left hand turn south on Nash Road, where he lives. A semi-truck, driven by 24-year-old Kenneth Nelson-Carpenter of Ionia, then hit King from behind, according to Michigan State Police. King’s vehicle spun out of control into the eastbound lane of US-12 where he was hit a second time on the passenger side. The third vehicle was driven by 64-year-old Robin Shaw of Coldwater. She had to be taken to the hospital for minor injuries, but was later released.
