The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash near Rochester. Saturday on Highway 14 near 50th Avenue Southeast. The state patrol says a 2004 Toyota Tundra was heading east on Highway 14 and a 2005 Chevrolet Impala was heading west when the two vehicles collided head-on. The crash happened about 9:30 p.m. Three people were involved in the crash.

Head-on crash kills 20-year-old driver from Rochester

A driver from Rochester was killed after dark on a highway in a head-on collision between a car and an SUV, authorities said Sunday. The crash occurred on the southeastern edge of Rochester about 9:30 p.m. Two men from Rochester in the car, the 20-year-old driver and his 58-year-old passenger, were extricated from the vehicle by fire personnel while the highway was closed to traffic, according to the Fire Department. Authorities have yet to say what led to the head-on wreck on the two-lane highway. Charles, climbed out of his upside-down vehicle and came away with no more than minor injuries, fire officials said.

Rochester Man Killed in Head-On Crash

A car driven by 52-year-old Senesack Linthakhanh of St. Charles was going east on U.S. Highway 14 when it collided with a car that 20-year-old Derek Lucas was driving. Lucas was killed, the state patrols said. A passenger in Lucas' Car, 58-year-old David Lucas, was seriously injured. He was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
