Officials say the crash happened at about 12:00 am near mile marker 59 on I-10 Eastbound. When they arrived on the scene, authorities say it appears the woman, who was from Gulfport, Mississippi, was driving a blue 2011 Hyundai Sante Fe in the wrong direction on the interstate when it crashed into a blue 2011 International 18-wheeler.

Elkins said Reaves was traveling the wrong way on I-10, causing her to hit the truck head-on. Jackson County Chief Deputy Coroner Jason Moody said Reaves was pronounced dead on scene at around 12:15 from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the International truck and a passenger had minor injuries.
