Christopher McCollum, 46, killed in Itawamba County, MS motorcycle accident on Highway 25

A Mantachie man has died after crashing his motorcycle late Thursday night. According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Christopher D. McCollum, 46, was traveling north on Highway 25 in Itawamba County when he apparently lost control of his 2007 Yamaha motorcycle, left the roadway and struck a tree. The accident happened near the Monroe County line. Troopers were notified of the crash at 10:45 p.m., but it is unclear what time it occurred. McCollum died on the scene from injuries suffered in the wreck.
