UPDATE: Victim identified in accident involving state trooper
The state trooper was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and the other victim, identified as Thelma Gill, 81, was pronounced dead at the scene according to Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict.
An accident at Highway 49 north of the south gate of Camp Shelby left one person dead and another in the hospital Monday afternoon. Two vehicles were involved in the accident, including a state trooper. The state trooper was taken to the hospital, and the other was pronounced dead. Names will be released upon notification of next of kin.
