She leaves behind a 5-year-old son, named Brayden. A fundraising site has been set up to help pay for the future that Moreno wanted for her son.

A Missouri woman died in a car crash on Friday, on the way to her own bachelorette party.

Best friends Collette Moreno and Ashley Theobald were driving to Moreno’s bachelorette party on Friday when one bad move caused them to collide with an oncoming car on the crest of a hill, killing the bride-to-be.

Friends and family are still trying to come to terms with the tragic, unexpected loss.

“It felt like a messed-up dream and I needed to wake up from it,” the victim’s mom, Kelly Arie, told Fox4KC. “And I just couldn’t believe it. I still can’t.”

Moreno and Theobald, both 26 years old, were in high spirits on Friday afternoon as they traveled to the Lake of the Ozarks on Missouri Highway 5. They were listening to Taylor Swift in anticipation of a fun-filled bachelorette weekend. Theobald, who was driving a 2013 Chevy Malibu, posted on Facebook about getting out of work early for the party.

Eight minutes before the crash, Moreno took one last, smiling selfie with her best friend since seventh grade, KCTV reports.
