Trout was a star wrestler for Centennial High School winning four straight state championships. The wrestling community has reached out on Twitter showing support using #doylestrong and #doylenation.
Wrestling state champion Doyle Trout was injured in a car crash Sunday near Waco Nebraska. Doyle's left leg has been amputated just above his knee. According to authorities,Trout was speeding on Road 14 when he lost control of the vehicle, swerved into a ditch, hit a power pole, and rolled. His rescue was delayed half an hour until the power could be shut down in the area. Trout was airlifted to a Lincoln hospital with serious injuries.
