55-year-old Joanne Smith, from Omaha, died Sunday, four days after her legs were severed in a traffic accident with a distracted driver. Smith had been hit by a car on Wednesday evening, January 14, while unloading items from the trunk of her car, which was parked on Northwest Radial. It has not yet been reported if the driver of the vehicle will face any criminal charges.
