Woman struck and killed by an SUV while trying to cross Durango Drive in Las Vegas, Nevada

Metro Police are investigating a fatal crash at Durango Drive and Sahara Avenue. According to police, the crash happened just before 6 p.m. Thursday. Police say a woman was walking eastbound across Durango Drive, outside of a crosswalk, when a Yukon Denali that was heading north on Durango Drive hit her. Witnesses told police the woman walked into the path of the SUV. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Durango Drive was shut down between Starboard Drive and Sahara Avenue for the investigation. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. This is the 24th fatal crash in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
