Woman pedestrian hit early Wednesday dies from injuries
A woman pedestrian struck by a vehicle early Wednesday in the central valley has died from her injuries.
At about 6:07am, Joan Freeman, 81, was walking across South Rainbow Boulevard when she was hit by car driven by Curtis Shewbert, 36. She sustained major injuries and was unconscious as she was transported to the hospital. Two days later, on Friday, March 13, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. Freeman was not in a marked crosswalk when hit, and Shewbert remained at the scene and met with authorities.
