Pedestrian struck by vehicle on Boulder Highway near Russell
The driver of the Scion-model vehicle involved in the crash sustained minor injuries. Police said they did not suspect impaired driving as a factor in the crash.

A Metro news release said he was not in a crosswalk and was throw to the road surface when he was hit by a 2013 Toyota Scion XB Checker cab driven by 60-year-old Dennis Johnson.

A Checker Cab car was headed north in the middle lane of Boulder Highway about 1:50 a.m. when it hit the pedestrian, who was crossing the street midblock outside of a marked crosswalk, police said.

Oscar Camara-Castillo was crossing at the intersection of Boulder Highway and Russell Road around 1:51 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle. He was rushed to Sunrise Hospital with critical injuries. He was walking outside of a marked crosswalk, and police do not suspect alcohol as a factor. More info will be posted as it becomes available.
