Carlos Acosta Jr., 20, killed in motorcycle accident in North Las Vegas on Lake Mead Boulevard on August 18.

The motorcyclist who died in a Monday afternoon crash in North Las Vegas was identified Tuesday by the Clark County coroner’s office. Carlos Acosta Jr., of North Las Vegas, died after his motorcycle collided with a truck near the intersection of Lake Mead Boulevard and Bruce Street. Witnesses told police that 20-year-old Acosta ran a red light and hit the truck, which was turning in the intersection. An investigation revealed Acosta was likely speeding before the crash. Acosta was pronounced dead at the scene. The 52-year-old driver of the truck had minor injuries.
