New Jersey State Police(link is external) told lehighvalleylive.com(link is external) the crash happened just after 4:15 a.m. at mile marker 2.8. Pasqual Franco of East Stroudsburg was driving a Nissan SUV west when the vehicle became disabled in the in the right lane, state police said. A Hino box truck driver also traveling west then collided with the rear of the Nissan, according to police. Franco later was pronounced dead at an area hospital, police said.
