A preliminary police investigation revealed that a 64-year-old Flemington man crossed Route 202/31 from the southbound side of the road and as he attempted to cross the northbound side, he was struck by an Acura MDX, which was traveling northbound on Route 202/31, Nelson said.

The 64-year-old man was crossing the highway at 5:55 a.m. at the corner of Commerce Street in Raritan Township when he was hit by the northbound vehicle, local police said.
