Driver in fatal vehicle crash identified
John E. Roote, 66, of Morris, New York, died after the truck he was driving collided head-on with a marked New York State Police SUV, state police said Monday.
Roote, who was driving a red 2013 Toyota Tacoma heading the wrong way on Route 17 East in the Town of Kirkwood, died on scene, police said.
