Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Circle Crash
State police at Allegany Sheriff's deputies are investigating a deadly crash in the Village of Angelica.
53-year-old Cynthia Polanowski was killed while crossing the Park Circle traffic circle Tuesday night. Polanowski was pushing her 2-year-old granddaughter in a stroller, accompanied by Robyn White, who was walking her dog at the time.
Troopers tell Eyewitness News as the group crossed Park Circle, 50-year-old Shayne Ellsessor was driving through the traffic circle and struck Palanowski.
Palanowski suffered severe head trauma and later died at St. James Hospital. Her granddaughter suffered non-life threatening injuries, and White was treated for minor injuries. White's dog died at the scene. Ellsessor was not injured in the accident.
Ellsessor has not been charged as of Wednesday, having shown no signs of impairment, intoxication or cell phone use. The investigation is ongoing.
