Colleagues 'thought so highly' of crash victim
The accident occurred about 5 p.m. Monday when Gee was southbound in her Honda Civic on Scottsville Road. Cpl. John Helfer of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said the Civic veered into oncoming traffic, collided with a pickup and burst into flames.

“Maddie was a happy girl. Smile from ear to ear, friendly, funny and just brightened the room every time she walked in. She was part of our family here at the diner,” said Kakarantzas.
There was heavy rain at the time of the crash, possibly causing Gee's vehicle to hydroplane and skid out of control.
