A Mastic man talking to his neighbor on the street was hit and seriously injured by a vehicle that did not stop Saturday night, Suffolk police said.

34-year-old Justin Collins was talking to a neighbor and standing next to their vehicle on Wood Avenue when a westbound pickup truck struck and injured him, but just continued west down the road. Collins was taken to the hospital, though his injuries were not life-threatening. Police are still searching for the driver responsible.
