Police investigating deadly hit-and-run in Canandaigua

Police said the man struck was using his motorized scooter to cross the street when that's when he was hit by a green Ford pickup truck.

Arrest made in deadly hit-and-run in Canandaigua

The Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of Smith was part of a three-week investigation involving the hit-and-run accident that occurred on October 23, 2021 which resulted in the death of 62-year-old Edwin Wesley, a disabled individual who was operating his scooter while crossing South Main Street in a marked crosswalk.

Guilty plea in deadly Canandaigua hit-and-run from October

Todd Smith is scheduled to be sentenced on May 3, according to Ontario County District Attorney James Ritts.
