Solvay man killed in Geddes crash was 'a simple man with a huge heart'
Nicholas Petrocci worked in the gas department at Niagara Mohawk on Hinsdale Road in Camillus for 32 years until his retirement in 1994. Despite his busy schedule, he found the time 30 years ago to help build a bar in Cutri's basement. In 2000, he built a deck for his daughter Annette.
In the afternoon, Petrocci was driving on State Route 5 when his car went off the road, struck a guardrail, and flipped. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe he either suffered a medical emergency or fell asleep at the wheel.
