Deadly, fiery crash closes portion of 485
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the crash happened around 6:15 p.m. along the 485 outerloop near mile marker 61. This is near the Johnston Road exit.
MEDIC told WBTV they responded to a deadly crash.

Police said Richard Clark, 58, of Shelby, lost control of his motorcycle and slid into the back of a pickup truck.

My dear friend Rich was the safest and most careful rider. A member of the Blue nights and very cautious. It pains me to see and hear of his death! I would never believe that this is of his negligence. Rich is a former police officer and knows the laws inside and out, he would never put someone's life at danger!
