Police said the outbound lanes on North Tryon Street and Stetson Drive were shut down while crews investigate. A WBTV reporter on scene said the northbound lanes near the I-85 connector were closed.

Police responded to the collision around 6 a.m. on North Tryon Street near Stetson Drive, between the Interstate 85 connector and Rocky River Road West, and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
