Child dies after Oklahoma accident(link is external)

A 7-year-old Valiant girl died Thursday from injuries suffered in a wreck this week, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. At 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, the girl was a passenger in an SUV driven by Pamela Fields, 45, of Valiant, who was attempting to make a left turn onto U.S. 70 from County Road 4420 about a mile east of Swink in Choctaw County, according to the patrol. A tractor-trailer rig traveling west on U.S. 70 struck the SUV, injuring the girl, the driver and a 4-year-old male passenger. The truck driver was treated at the hospital and released.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 7-year-old Valliant girl has died of injuries suffered in a collision in southeastern Oklahoma. The OHP says the girl - whose name has not been released - died Friday at a hospital in Dallas where she was taken following the crash on Tuesday near the Choctaw County town of Swink. The OHP says the crash occurred when a sport utility vehicle the girl was riding in pulled into the path of a tractor-trailer rig on U.S. Highway 70. The driver of the SUV was hospitalized in stable condition while a 4-year-old boy who was in the SUV and the driver of the semi were both treated and released.
