Six teens were injured in a rollover crash on a rural Clackamas County road Saturday evening near Molalla.

Clackamas County deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash at about 7:20 p.m., according to a news release from the county sheriff’s office.

Tashne West, 18, of Mulino was driving five friends on a camping trip, she told police, when the vehicle began accelerating uncontrollably. West told authorities that she was unable to stop or slow the car using the brakes, so she attempted to pull to the side of the gravel South Family Camp Road, at which point the vehicle rolled several times.

None of the six people in the 1993 Ford Bronco was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. All were taken to hospitals, two via a Lifeflight helicopter ambulance.

Authorities say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

The passengers were: Ashley Burkey, 19; Nick Bartell, 18; two 17-year-old boys; and one 16-year-old boy.

The teens were all conscious, breathing and able to move after the crash.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Molalla Police Department and Molalla Fire District responded to the incident.

“This accident serves as a potent reminder to wear your seat belt at all times,” according to a sheriff’s office news release.
