The identity of a woman who died in a three-car accident Tuesday in Beale Township has been released by authorities, according to a report from Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown.

Police said Carrie Hackenberger, 28, of Mifflin, was traveling south on state Route 35 in a Pontiac G5 when she tried to turn left onto Academia Road. According to the report, Hackenberger turned into the path of Elyse Patrick, 26, of Lewistown, who was driving a Chevrolet Cruze and traveling north on Route 35. Police said the collision was head-on between the two vehicles. According to the report, a third motorist, Brandon Schreck, 19, of Middleburg, was traveling behind Hackenberger in a Dodge Dakota that was hit by Patrick's vehicle after the initial impact. According to the report, Hackenberger died as a result of the crash and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Police said Patrick was injured in the accident, but it was not known if she was wearing a seatbelt. Police also said Schreck was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash. Police were assisted at the scene by Beale Township Fire Company, Mifflintown Hose Company, Mifflin Fire Department and Central Juniata EMS.
