One dead after stopped vehicle on Interstate 78 in Upper Saucon is struck from behind, police say

The highway was closed until just before 10 a.m., the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. It was shut for so long due to fluid, vehicle debris and cargo on the road, police said.

The driver of a stopped vehicle on the side of I-78, Robert J. Burton, 52, of Richland Township, Bucks County, was killed when his vehicle was struck early Tuesday morning by a tractor trailer driven by a 64-year-old man. The tractor trailer caught on fire following the crash. An autopsy is planned for Wednesday to determine the cause and manner of Robert Burton's death.
