Nesquehoning is about 25 miles northwest of Allentown.
Efrain Rivera was driving on Route 209 when he swerved to avoid hitting a porcupine in the roadway on Sunday morning. Rivera lost control of his vehicle, which crashed into a storm drain before flipping on its roof around 5:30 a.m. The Lehighton man was pronounced dead at the scene.
